چکیده

The paper examines the hiddenness argument, originally developed in «Divine Hiddenness and Human Reason» (1993) by John Schellenberg. This argument is based on notion of perfectly loving God eager to establish a personal relationship with everyone who not resistant Him. Since there are many unbelievers left ignorant about without any fault their part, loving. If unsurpassable love necessary attribute theistic God, as Schellenberg maintains, it follows that does exist. Two possible objections against this reasoning highlighted. First, could be argued has absolute freedom rather than unlimited love. In case He free hide or disclose Himself anyone deems suitable for this. Second, linked pre-mundane Fall, committed souls beyond realm visible things. Thus form unbelief stemmed from original resistance even if some persons seem nonresistant present earthly lives. model, inspired teachings Eastern Church Fathers, helps reconcile His all creatures.

Divine hiddenness and the demographics of theism

According to the much-discussed argument from divine hiddenness, God’s existence is disconfirmed by the fact that not everyone believes in God. Divine Hiddenness and Affective Forecasting

In this paper I argue that J. L. Schellenberg’s Divine Hiddenness Argument is committed to a problematic implication that is weakened by research in cognitive psychology on affective forecasting. Schellenberg’s notion of a nonresistant nonbeliever logically implies that for any such person, it is true that she would form the proper belief in God if provided with what he calls “probabilifying” e...

Perhaps the most pressing objection to libertarianism is the so-called Mind argument for the incompatibility of freedom and indeterminism. This essay presents a new criticism of the Mind argument that is at once decisive and instructive. After so...

The result was that many of the most important works of Greek philosophy and science were...
